Position Summary
The Senior Associate, Marketing and Communications at the KAPSARC School of Public Policy (KSPP) will play a key role in shaping and delivering communication strategies that enhance the School's visibility, reputation, and engagement with stakeholders. The position requires strong expertise in content development, digital marketing, and brand management, with the ability to independently manage projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to KSPP's mission of advancing public policy research, education, and outreach.Major Accountabilities
Marketing Strategy and Planning
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication and marketing plans and calendars, ensuring alignment with KSPP's strategy and approved budget.
  • Benchmark competitors and industry trends periodically to identify opportunities and differentiators for KSPP.
  • Monitor best practices in higher education and policy communications, introducing innovative approaches to elevate KSPP's profile.
Content Development and Digital Communication
  • Create and oversee high-quality communication materials, including booklets, newsletters, publications, and website content, ensuring consistency with KSPP's brand identity.
  • Handle the development and management of KSPP's visual identity and digital communication materials (e.g., social media, blog posts, graphics, animations, FAQs, website).
  • Oversee visual and multimedia content, including photography, graphics, and video production, ensuring high standards, brand alignment, and suitability across channels.
Media and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Establish and manage a media screening process to collect and analyze data from all channels, producing regular, actionable reports.
  • Measure the effectiveness of media outreach, campaigns, and programs, suggesting improvements to strengthen marketing and communications strategies.
  • Build and maintain media and stakeholder relationships to strengthen KSPP's visibility and influence.
  • Manage relationships with creative agencies for communications content and campaigns, ensuring quality standards are met.
Internal Collaboration and Event Support
  • Coordinate with faculty, researchers, and internal teams to promote KSPP's academic and policy contributions effectively.
  • Provide communication support for events, including setting up booths, preparing promotional materials, and arranging logistics for hosting and participation.
  • Support the preparation of KSPP's annual report by collecting relevant data, drafting content, and coordinating with stakeholders for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Conduct research to understand KSPP's target audiences, including students and executive learners - analyzing preferences, needs, and pain points.
Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures
  • Provide input on designing and implementing policies, systems, and procedures to fulfill all relevant procedural and legislative requirements while delivering quality, cost-effective service.
Reporting
  • Analyze information and prepare reports and dashboards in a timely and accurate manner to meet requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Related Assignments
  • Perform any other duties as required by the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
Recommended Qualifications and Years of Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Experience: 4-7 years of proven experience in marketing, communications, content writing, or digital marketing (or 2-5 years of experience with a Master's degree). Experience in academic, policy, or research institutions is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful communication and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Arabic and English.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with design and content creation tools.
