- Conducts research in development of biosensors, recognition receptors (phage technologies) and lab on a chip area in the context of the assigned research area.
- Supervises undergraduate and graduate students in the lab in their research.
- Performs literature review about specific research areas upon request from the lab director.
- Participates in day-to-day lab duties and maintains equipment maintenance and inventory to ensure safe environment.
- Prepares complete documentation of research activities for reference purposes, including following applicable data management protocols.
- Analyzes, interprets, and documents research findings for review.
- Assists in the preparation and writing articles and funding proposals.
- Organizes, analyzes, and presents data from research on a weekly basis.
- Pursues independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally.
- Publishes research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings.
- Supervises students as they conduct experiments during research projects.
- Assists with procuring laboratory supplies.
- Executes regular safety inspections of equipment and laboratories.
- Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
- Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) in Chemistry, Science, or equivalent from an accredited institute.
- Minimum of one year in research project assistance (Research Assistant or Lab Assistant) or related fields (Desirable).
