- Strategic Planning & Development: Lead the development of themed areas within the park, ensuring alignment with the overall park’s vision and brand.
- Oversee market research, competitor analysis, and guest demographic studies to identify trends and opportunities for development.
- Develop detailed area development plans, including conceptual designs, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Project Management: Manage the end-to-end process for the design and development of new areas, including initial concept, design, construction, and opening phases.
- Work closely with internal teams (design, operations, legal, finance) and external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the highest quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential obstacles are addressed proactively.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, marketing, and finance) to ensure all aspects of the development are integrated and cohesive.
- Build strong relationships with external partners, including architects, designers, contractors, and local authorities, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership on area development projects, providing regular updates and reports on progress, budgets, and risks.
- Design and Conceptualization: Work with creative teams to conceptualize and design unique themes, attractions, and experiences that align with the overall theme park brand.
- Ensure that the design of the area promotes guest engagement, enhances the visitor experience, and supports operational efficiency.
- Ensure all developments adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Budget & Financial Management: Develop and manage area development budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or guest experience.
- Track financial performance throughout the project lifecycle, providing forecasts and adjusting for unexpected changes or delays.
- Assess the ROI of new developments and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the area.
- Operational Support & Efficiency: Work with operations teams to ensure new developments integrate smoothly with existing park infrastructure and operations.
- Ensure the new areas support efficient guest flow, safety, staffing, and maintenance operations.
- Post-Launch Evaluation: Oversee the post-launch evaluation of new areas, including guest feedback, operational performance, and financial metrics.
- Implement improvements and adjustments based on evaluation data to enhance the overall experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in theme park development, hospitality, or related industries, with a proven track record of leading area development projects.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in budget management, contract negotiation, and financial oversight.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of design principles, construction processes, and safety regulations related to theme parks.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Experience working with international theme park projects.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building certifications.
