Sr. Mechanical Engineer

• Lead the mechanical scope—Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing & drainage, and fire protection—in line with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, and codes.
• Review/approve shop and coordination drawings; close Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve clashes with civil/electrical teams.
• Plan and sequence works; integrate activities into the project schedule and drive progress/recovery as needed.
• Manage procurement and technical submittals; evaluate vendors, secure approvals, and track lead times and deliveries.
• Direct subcontractors and site crews; supervise installation of major equipment, ductwork, and piping.
• Coordinate testing & commissioning (pressure tests, flushing/chlorination, Testing, Adjusting and Balancing—TAB, functional/integrated tests) and handover.
• Interface with client/consultant; chair technical/progress meetings; manage variations with the Quantity Surveyor (QS).
• Enforce Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices and mentor junior engineers/draftsmen.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years in Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) contracting, including 3–5 years in a senior/lead role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing & drainage, and fire protection; familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, and local authority processes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Navisworks; basic scheduling in Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6).
• Proven procurement, vendor, and subcontractor management experience.
• Demonstrated oversight of testing & commissioning (TAB, pressure tests, flushing/chlorination, functional tests).
• Commercial skills: Bills of Quantities (BOQs), variations, and change management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management; valid driving license preferred.
