- Lead the implementation and compliance of HazMat programs for radiation, and lithium batteries across the Geozone.
- Serve as liaison with local regulatory bodies for licensing and permitting compliance in each country.
- Audit emergency response plans and guide improvements.
- Oversee import/export processes for hazardous materials in alignment with international regulations.
- Conduct inspections to ensure safe storage of hazardous materials and compliance with security protocols.
- Vet and approve HazMat vendors based on Weatherford standards.
- Monitor and manage HazMat licensing conditions, personnel authorizations, usage records, and inventory.
- Validate monthly HazMat reports and follow through on corrective actions.
- Identify and close legislative and procedural gaps; coordinate with global teams for compliance via MOC.
- Support country HazMat teams in developing and aligning local procedures with OEPS standards.
- Oversee dosimetry programs and ensure regulatory handling of female radiation workers.
- Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis of HazMat-related events.
- Deliver HazMat training and ensure ongoing competency of RSOs, BSOs, and ESOs.
- Drive HazMat-related cost optimization initiatives and ensure timely invoice validation with finance teams.
- Lead the regional HazMat group and ensure coordination among country HazMat officers.
- Act as backup support for country-level client and authority communications when needed.
- Ensure full compliance with OEPS standards and escalate improvements to the Global HazMat Director.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to influence at senior levels
- In-depth knowledge of hazardous material safety practices (radiation, lithium batteries)
- Strong auditing, inspection, and incident investigation capabilities
- Skilled in developing and delivering training programs
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills
- Strong computer literacy, reporting, and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently across multicultural and multi-country teams
- Physically capable of responding to HazMat emergencies
- Certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) - Mandatory
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Health & Safety or in a HazMat-specific role (RSO/BSO/ESO)
- Strong understanding of local and international hazardous materials regulations
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field
- Certified Lead Auditor
- Certified in IATA-DGR (International Air Transport Association - Dangerous Goods Regulations)
- Certified in IMDG Code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code)
- Previous experience in Well Logging (NAM-specific) for RSO registration compliance
