The Control Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing control systems and instrumentation used in industrial, manufacturing, or facility operations. This role ensures that automated systems, such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, and other control equipment, operate efficiently to support production and operational goals. The technician collaborates with engineering teams and adheres to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, and maintain control systems, including PLCs, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), sensors, and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in control systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
Perform preventive maintenance on control equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to support installation and repair tasks.
Program and configure PLCs and other control devices as needed.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams to implement system upgrades or modifications.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations for record-keeping and reporting.
Assist in training staff on the operation and basic troubleshooting of control systems.
