Lead cutting-edge research in carbon fiber manufacturing, with a focus on polymer precursor synthesis, stabilization, carbonization, and scaling to pilot/commercial scale.
Build a vibrant, collaborative research group at KAUST, securing external funding and engaging with national and international industry partners.
Contribute to KAUST's translation mission by bridging fundamental discoveries in catalysis, polymer chemistry, and materials science with industrial applications in carbon fiber production.
Mentor and train graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in carbon fiber technologies.
Play an active role in localization efforts for carbon fiber production in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Proven track record in carbon fiber production research and industrial leadership (e.g., patents, pilot plant experience, industrial partnerships).
Experience working at the interface of academia and industry.
Strong publication record in high-impact journals and demonstrated ability to secure competitive funding.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Teaching and Service Responsibilities
Commitment to delivering original and high-quality graduate-level teaching.
Active involvement in service to KAUST across all aspects of academic life.
