- Responsibilities:
- Monitor Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities to ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct safety inductions for new personnel and deliver regular toolbox talks focused on MEP-related risks (e.g., electrical hazards, confined spaces, hot works).
- Identify and report unsafe practices, hazardous conditions, or equipment issues specific to MEP operations.
- Participate in incident investigations involving MEP systems, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with MEP supervisors and subcontractors to enforce safety requirements and site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, including permits to work (PTWs), inspection logs, and near-miss reports.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging workers in hazard identification and risk mitigation practices.
- Requirements:
- Preferred certifications include OSHA 30 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30-Hour Course) or NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety).
- Prior experience in safety roles within MEP construction projects is essential.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, especially those related to MEP systems and operations.
- Familiarity with high-risk MEP tasks such as electrical energization, pressurized systems, and working at heights.
- Ability to assess technical drawings and method statements for safety risks.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise with multiple disciplines on site.
