Job Title: Asphalt Batching Plant (ABP) Manager
Department: Operations
Reporting to: Operations Manager / General Manager UNIMINE
Location: RiyadhJob Purpose
The Asphalt Batching Plant (ABP) Manager is responsible for managing the production operations of asphalt plants, ensuring consistent mix quality, optimum plant utilization, and adherence to project schedules. This role also includes monitoring the mechanical condition of the plant, overseeing raw material consumption, and providing data-driven insights to support production planning, cost control, and operational decision-making.Key Responsibilities
1. Asphalt Production Management
  • Plan and execute daily and shift-wise asphalt production to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure mix designs are followed, and coordinate with quality control teams to maintain compliance with project and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor production KPIs such as tons/hour, fuel consumption, downtime, and batch quality.
  • Ensure the availability of required raw materials (bitumen, aggregates, additives, fillers) to avoid production interruptions.
2. Mechanical Condition & Preventive Maintenance
  • Conduct daily inspections of the plant’s mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain plant health reports, including wear-and-tear assessments and spare parts requirements.
  • Track critical spares inventory to ensure readiness for emergency repairs.
3. Raw Material Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track aggregate, bitumen, and additive consumption against production to identify variances.
  • Provide insights on material quality, storage conditions, and stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) for aggregate and bitumen usage to maintain material integrity.
  • Submit daily and monthly reports on production and material consumption.
4. SAP and Data Management
  • Utilize SAP to log production, raw material usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Generate cost, consumption, and performance reports for management review.
  • Support budgeting and procurement planning with accurate material and operational data.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
  • Enforce strict adherence to HSE protocols at the plant.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of bitumen, fuel, and aggregates.
  • Maintain all regulatory and environmental compliance records.
6. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Supervise and mentor plant operators, loaders, and supporting staff.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions for safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Coordinate closely with logistics and site teams to align production with laying schedules.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical degree).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in asphalt production or related heavy industrial operations.
  • Strong mechanical and operational knowledge of asphalt batching plants.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP for operations and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and raw material handling.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and production efficiency.

  • Asphalt production output vs. plan (tons per shift/day/month).
  • Plant availability and downtime (%) reduction.
  • Material consumption variance vs. production targets.
  • Maintenance compliance and emergency breakdown response time.
  • Quality compliance – zero rejection or mix failure incidents.
