Job Category: Principal SpecialistJob Description:Job PurposeThe Principal Specialist, BU Data Domain is the owner of a specific Business Unit data domain, accountable for the semantic integrity, governance, quality, and fitness-for-purpose of all data products produced from that domain.The role ensures that BU data and relevent digital initiative is transformed into trusted, governed, and reusable data products aligned with enterprise standards, while still reflecting the operational and decision-making realities of the Business Unit. This position acts as the single point of accountability for domain definitions, KPIs, ownership, and data quality outcomes.The Principal Specialist represents the domain in enterprise data forums, aligns with cross-domain standards, and ensures the BU's data products integrate cleanly into enterprise reporting, analytics, and control frameworks.Key Accountabilities * Act as the domain authority for all data entities, KPIs, and concepts within the assigned mining Business Unit domain.
  • Participate in enterprise design and governance forums to align domain needs with cross-domain and platform standards.
  • Ensure domain data reflects actual business processes, operational constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with data engineering and platform teams to ensure domain data products are implemented as designed.
  • Act as the primary data representative for the Business Unit, engaging senior stakeholders on data definitions, KPIs, and data-driven decisions.
  • Translate BU needs into structured domain requirements that can be delivered consistently.
  • Advocate for domain priorities while aligning with enterprise direction.
  • Adapt enterprise standards to BU context without breaking consistency.
Minimum Qualification, Experience and CompetenciesMinimum QualificationBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or related disciplineMaster's degree or equivalent domain experience is an advantageMinimum Experience10+ years of experience within a Business Unit domain, data, analytics, or enterprise information managementDemonstrated experience owning domain definitions, KPIs, and data quality outcomesProven ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders without direct authoritySkills:Domain-driven data ownership and KPI definitionData governance and stewardship operating modelsData quality management and remediation leadershipStrong business-technical translation capabilityAbility to align local domain needs with enterprise standards
