Ensure all equipment maintenance is performed with high quality and the “Right First Time” principle.
Troubleshoot defects and faults in engines and machinery and carry out timely repairs.
Conduct overhauls and servicing of engines at the workshop or onboard vessels within scheduled timeframes.
Reporting and Maintenance Planning
Provide daily updates on job status and plan work activities accordingly.
Submit weekly and monthly worklists in coordination with the Service Supervisor and Technical Manager.
Monitor and follow up on the technical performance of serviced equipment through communication, reports, and onboard visits to optimize maintenance efficiency.
Prepare detailed repair specifications and overhaul reports.
Assess technical shortcomings or wear and tear on equipment and engines; prepare parts lists and maintenance plans.
Stock and Inventory Management
Track and manage stock inventory related to equipment and tools.
Coordinate with the Service Supervisor and Supply Chain Management (SCM) for planned inventory and technical orders.
Repairs and Commissioning
Schedule and execute repairs according to planned timelines.
Prepare comprehensive parts lists and ensure all required tools are available prior to starting overhaul jobs.
Ensure the quality of work meets company standards and delivers the best possible solutions.
Commission newly installed or overhauled equipment and conduct sea trials as needed.
Cooperation and Communication
Maintain a respectful and cooperative attitude towards all coworkers.
Actively respond to questions from colleagues regarding repair progress and share updates transparently.
Requirements
Minimum higher education or technical diploma.
ITI certification (national or internationally recognized) in relevant mechanical or technical trade.
Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role, preferably with exposure to maritime, industrial, or heavy machinery environments.
Good understanding of applicable rules, safety regulations, and industry standards relevant to the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Familiarity with regional operational areas such as the Middle East, India, and Africa is a plus.
