The Electrical foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site electrical works, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role oversees daily site operations, manages electrical work crews, and ensures alignment with the project schedule and budget. The position acts as the key link between site staff, subcontractors, and the MEP Manager to resolve technical and operational issues promptly.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Review electrical shop drawings and site layouts to plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are available before work starts.
Verify that delivered electrical materials and equipment comply with specifications and are properly stored.
Supervise site crews in the installation of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, earthing, cable trays, and low-current systems.
Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, standards, and safety regulations.
Monitor daily progress, resolve site issues, and report delays or risks to the MEP Manager.
Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning works for all electrical systems.
Coordinate with testing teams to verify that systems operate as intended.
Ensure all punch list items are completed before handover.
Monitor work processes for productivity and quality improvements.
Implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
Encourage safety, teamwork, and continuous learning among site personnel.Reporting & Authority:
Reports to: MEP Manager – Electrical Engineer
Direct reports: Electrical foremen, electricians, and helpers
Authority: Allocate tasks, approve completed work, request rework for non-compliance, and escalate technical issues.Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5–7 years experience in electrical works within construction or infrastructure projects, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of international standards and codes (IEC, NEC, BS).
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in MS Office; basic AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.Key Skills:
