Aviation Medicine SpecialistGrade: GG12Location: Dhahran , Saudi ArabiaJOB PURPOSEBAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.The Purpose of this role is to provide aviation medicine training and medical assessment of Saudi military aircrewJJOB ACCOUNTABILITIESAssessment of fitness for flying duties of military aircrew and related occupations during recruitment and periodic assessmentsConducting Medical Boards of aircrew with medical problems and advising on limitations to aircrew duties.Preparation and delivery of formal lectures as part of aircrew physiological training, including compilation and review of examination papers.Hypobaric chamber training of aircrew and delivery of supervised hypoxia experience.High-G training of aircrew in the human centrifuge.Pressure breathing training.Delivery of disorientation training in spatial disorientation trainer.Night vision instruction and use of night vision enhancement devices.Desensitisation treatment of airsickness.Ejection seat training of aircrew.Providing advice on the development of medical standards for aircrew and related occupations.Occupational and environmental advice.RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATIONRegistration with a recognised national medical accreditation body as a doctor.A higher degree in aviation medicine, registered either in home country and/or with the Saudi Health Council if required.Must be medically fit to the standard of A4G1 - passenger in high performance aircraft.Extensive full-time experience in the practice of aviation medicine, ideally military aviation medicine.Hypobaric chamber instructor experience is desirable.EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE BENEFITSIn return for the required high levels of commitment and hard work you will receive a competitive salary, rent free accommodation and access to free recreation facilities, all available within Company secured accommodation.
